After putting herself on the back burner for years, Kim came into our 2018 St Pete Personal Training Total Body Transformation struggling with motivation, a sugar addiction and a dislike for exercise. She was on a quest to learn how to lose weight in a way she could maintain it, make fitness fun and incorporate it into her life.

At 51, Kim wanted to avoid additional medicines for being “overweight” improve her mood and her relationship with food and exercise. 

” I am moving better and have less back pain but, the biggest improvement is my attitude and outlook. I feel better about myself and my moods are improving. I have even come to ‘like’ fitness. It is not a love affair, but I have a new attitude towards exercise.”

After over 20 years of Personal Training in St Pete, I have to say,  Kim has undergone one of the biggest mental transformations I’ve seen in a very long time ! After decades of a desk job, caring for an aging parent and raising 3 teenagers took it’s toll on her physically and mentally,  Kim came in looking to make some changes in both those areas.

Sure,  Kim has lost some fat and inches but her  changes go way beyond the number on a scale. Kim’s  success is also about the reduction in aches and pains  and the increase in confidence, energy and healthier relationship with food and exercise that comes along with it!

Losing fat, gaining strength and  improving your mindset is awesome …….

Being over 50, FINALLY finding a fitness program and food plan you can live with FOR LIFE and stepping off the dieting merry go round FOREVER is awesome……..

But,  whats even more awesome is what  those things do  for someone.

When someone’s life is transformed, it can really be a difference maker far beyond the number on the scale.

Kim is always the first to try a new exercise or level up and she is always there to  bring the snark and fun…. even if she’s creating a “new normal” of working out at 5:15am !

Where did you grow up? I was born in Toledo Ohio; grew up in Ohio and Texas


How long have you been doing a Fitness St Pete Group Fitness Training Program and why did you start?

I worked out for three months in early 2018 and then continued the exercises on my own. When I fell off the wagon in April 2019, Dianne welcomed me back with open arms. I have been coming ever since!

What kinds of results have you achieved so far? Clothes fitting better, brighter skin, better attitude


How has your fitness level/health improved since becoming a Fitness St Pete Group Fitness Training Member?
Better movement and lessening lower back pain. But the biggest improvement was my attitude and outlook. I feel better about myself and my moods are improving.

What are the two or three biggest benefits (they don’t have to be fitness related) you’ve experienced since becoming a group fitness training member? I love the people in the program. Everyone is wonderful and extremely supportive of each other.

I feel much happier with myself. This could be possibly because of the commitment. Or the endorphins or eating healthier or all of it.
Please describe how your Fitness St Pete I Tierra Verde Group Fitness Training Program has specifically helped you achieve success with your fitness level, fitness goals or health? Fitness St. Pete is the only program that has kept me interested and WANTING to attend. I have never been an athletic person and really do not like to sweat.

I never felt judged or “less than” when working out, even if I am not able to exercise at the higher level. Everyone is very accepting of each other. My main goals were to avoid additional medicines for being “overweight” and for better mood. Hobbies/Interests outside of camp? Watching 80’s and 90’s Movies , Boating, Volunteering for local charities

Tell us an interesting or unusual fact about yourself. I grew up with no pets – my Dad had asthma and allergies. But since I was 22, I have always had a dog. My kids brought home a gerbil and a rabbit. We now have two Aussie-doodles.

My husband and I are avid Florida Gator fans. We have owned season tickets to the games since 1990. Now all my children (3) have gone or are attending UF.

How could Fitness St Pete / Tierra Verde Fitness improve their service to you? My only suggestion was going to be early morning sessions, but you already did that! Yeah!


What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals?
Fitness St. Pete is fun. We laugh, we sweat, we care for each other. There are no judgement. Dianne helps us every step of the way. If you can’t commit to this program, you are not ready to make change.
