St. Pete Personal Trainer Approved Low Carb Gravy
Happy Friday from your St Pete Personal Trainer for over 50 bodies !  I cannot even believe that Thanksgiving is in 2 weeks.  One of the things for which I am most thankful is the  crazy success of the Fitness St Pete I Tierra Verde Fitness brand since it’s launch almost 3 years ago. To say thank you and give back to our amazing subscribers, blog readers and social media followers, I have been crazy  committed to help busy St Pete & Tierra Verde men and women over 50 maintain not gain this holiday season.
I’ve created more content  along with our Ultimate Holiday Survival Kit  and I have really appreciated all of your wonderful feed back from our Facebook lives, blog posts and emails and have been working hard to create the content you have asked for.
One of the biggest requests has been Holiday Recipes and snack ideas so I’ve included 15 aps, drinks and desserts in our Holiday Survival Kit
We have a lot of in-home and outdoor park personal training clients and group fitness training members who are phenomenal cooks  … and then there are people like me who like their recipes, quick, easy, tasty and low maintenance. In that vein, here is my go to low carb gravy recipe!

 6 Simple Tips To Stop Eating So Much Junk Food
Low Carb GravyÂ
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 Tablespoons bacon grease from nitrate free bacon
- 2 cups finely diced onion (from about 1 ½ onions)
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 1 Tbs Sea Salt
- 1 tbs Black Pepper
- Arrowroot Powder: About a teaspoon per cup of gravy. Mix in a little at a time and mix well to get the desired thickness
- 4 c Drippings from your turkey, skimmed of fat ( i use a strainer to separate the drippings from the fat)
**** If you don’t have enough drippings for 4 cups, you can add broth or stock to make up the difference **** If you aren’t making a turkey,  you can substitute turkey broth or stock instead instead of turkey drippings and add .
DIRECTIONS:
- Â If using turkey drippings, strain drippings into a large bowl to remove any fat.
- Add butter, salt and black pepper to a saucepan over medium heat until butter is melted.
- Lower heat and whisk in arrow root stirring constantly for 3-4 minutes.
- Slowly whisk in drippings. Continue to whisk to prevent clumping and until gravy thickens.
- Remove from heat and pour into a gravy bowl. Serve immediately.
