Wendy  is one of the most fun and motivating people ever to come into one of our group training programs. When all about her were finding reasons why they “couldn’t”, we helped Wendy keep her eye on the prize and figured out ways she COULD ! Motivation and structure is what makes Fitness St Pete l Tierra Verde Fitness the go to Personal training in St. Petersburg for over 50 bodies.
Wendy started best weight loss programs with us in March for our Resolution Reboot Challenge. At a time when most folks had abandoned their New Year’s Resolutions and finding excuses as to “why” they couldn’t … she took action jumped right in. Out of 65 people who applied to one of the 6 camps, she, along with 10 others pulled the trigger and went for it !
Not only has she managed to drop 11 lbs and countless inches, she juggled making it to camp, food prep and a whole lot of new habits into a very chaotic and demanding lifestyle while always maintaining a great attitude and sense of humor !
What makes her even more remarkable is the fact that she is an over 50 working mother taking care of an ailing parent! I will let Wendy tell you the rest of her story:
Where did you grow up? I grew up right here in N.E. St.Pete. I was 5 when Dad retired from the Army.
Favorite Fitness St Pete Group Fitness Training exercise? This is tough….. i just want challenges!
Least favorite Fitness St. Pete Group Fitness Training  exercise? Foam rolling! Great thing for muscle recovery, but I have NEVER felt so uncoordinated in my entire life!! Still struggling with form, but will keep plugging along
How has your fitness level/health improved since becoming a Fitness St Pete Group Fitness Training Member ?  It has been a steady increase in my strength and endurance and an overall feeling of feeling better! Better not just physically but mentally as well!
How long have you been doing a Fitness St Pete Group Personal Training and why did you start?  I have been at the Downtown St Pete Personal Training Session for about 9 or 10 weeks.
What kinds of results have you achieved so far ? 11 lbs gone, inches down but most of all knowing I can do this not only for the short term, but learning how to incorporate this into my daily life moving into the future and THAT is the biggest take away from this experience for me.
What are the two or three biggest benefits you’ve experienced since becoming a group personal training member? I can be proud that I have finally taken the time to take care of myself. How has your program compared with your expectations? Of course, I want instant results …. doesn’t everyone?!!! Now I understand the reality though and know steady and slow wins the race. Adding small but constant changes at a slower pace will have staying power.
Tell us an interesting or unusual fact about yourself. I once got paid to be a crash test dummy fill in……. true fact!!
What would you say to someone on the fence about making a change & committing to their goals? Nike said it …. just do it.
Commit….. you will falter on occasion but that’s expected. It’s what you do after that! Don’t let one, two or even dozens of missteps stop your forward motion.
